* Unity ...is a Christian Youth Network. This is our website! The purpose of this website is to share the vibe and share the info! So have a look around and get involved!
* News Someone once said "Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end." And for Unity there is both a beginning and an end.
The End; From Easter this year I will no longer be the 'full time' worker steering Unity. I have a new job running what is affectionately known as 'the Purple Bus'. It's a project owned by a charity but staffed by West Sussex Youth Service. The project takes youth provision (a big purple bus!) to disadvantaged and isolated rural communities around the Unity/Southdown patch and I have been asked to be the project manager.
It's come a bit out of the blue but my chatting with people and praying it through leads me to feel strongly hat God is in it. I think it will be a fantastic opportunity to be 'Salt & light' to young people who really need it. It's been twelve and a half years working for the church and it feels like the right time to move on. Having said that, change is always difficult and whilst I anticipate that Unity will carry on in some form, it will take a little while for everyone to adjust.
The Beginning; I'm feeling really excited about the future as well as pretty scared and a bit sad about the ending of this chapter. I'm sure though, that this is not an end in many ways and I'm praying that it will lead to new life, new vision and new gifts coming out in people as they step forward to take responsibility. I'm really grateful for the support and trust shown me over the years and the willingness to get behind the Unity vision.
Bless you all, Jonny

Cell groups If you're not in a cell group and would like to be then give me a shout. They're all about friendship and faith so get involved if you can.
CU It's difficult to be different at school. Being a christian is pretty different. Christian Unions at Steyning Grammar, The Weald and a few of the local colleges give support and a place to meet.
The UDY course is in full flow with eight trainees embarking on what is already proving to be a really important year. If you know someone doing the course then please support them, pray for them and ask them how it's going. |
