Health & Exercise Sensory Experience
20th March 2020 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
£3.00Friday, March 20th – a ‘Health & Exercise’ Sensory Experience
On Friday, March 20th, we will welcome Eileen Munday, who will run the first part of this session. Eileen is a personal trainer, who runs classes for older people at the Romsey Rapids. She has also run exercise classes for people living with Dementia. She will bring along some different types of equipment for us to use, such as prickly balls, hoops, beanbags, coloured scarves, light hand/ankle weights, resistance bands, and we also have some ribbons (as used by rhythmic gymnasts). This will be a ‘fun’ session, with something for everyone whatever their ability – including seated exercises. Eileen will, however, need to be made aware if anyone has any serious health conditions(cardiac/cancer/lung). To add to the fun, we will have music and neon sweatbands for people to wear if they would like to. After Eileen’s session, we will have energy bars and health drinks to revive participants ! We will have a short chat over refreshments about how exercise classes have changed over the years, and find out what people have enjoyed doing. Once re-energised, we will have some indoor games to play, such as skittles, to finish off the session.
This event will be held in the Green Room at the Plaza Theatre from 10.30a.m. – 12.30p.m. There is parking behind the theatre (in the unnumbered spaces) and entry is via the side door, up the accessible ramp. The cost for both sessions is £3.00 per person (carer as well) – but you can come to the ‘Arts & Crafts’ for free for the first time to try it out.
Newcomers are welcome to just turn up, but if you would like further information, please don’t hesitate to contact Pamela on: 01794 501605 or Pamela@shadow26.plus.com .
