Dr Siobhan Weare, Lecturer in Law at Lancaster, has kindly agreed to present her research findings from the first study in the UK to interview male survivors in ‘forced-to-penetrate’ cases. These cases are so labelled because they are not legally recognised as rape under UK laws. Siobhan will explore the contexts within which the form of sexual violence occurs, the impacts on male survivors, and their engagement with the criminal justice system and support services. She will also discuss the implications of her research for practitioners working with male survivors.
Siobhan had been going to present these findings within our face to face training around sexual abuse this month, but as we have had to postpone this full day’s training, Siobhan has kindly agreed instead to present these findings by way of a webinar for us on Wednesday 24th June, 11am – 12.30pm.
This training is free to attendees and please could you let me know if you would like to attend this so that I can send you the log in details for the session.
