Keeping Fit whilst spreading the Covid 19 word!
The collaboration between Unity, Test Valley Borough Council, Daley Hub, Romsey Emergency Planning and Andover Radio to provide a community helpline for socially isolated people, took a new turn this week when the Muddy Runners entered the picture. The runners agreed to keep their exercise regime going throughout rural Andover and Village by delivering the leaflets to promote the Test Valley Community Helpline service in an effort to reach into the most rural areas of the Borough.
Muddy Runners, Kate Bone said “The Muddy Runners are so pleased to be able to assist with the leaflet distribution for Unity during these difficult times. Our runners are already feeling the loss of our regular group runs as well as Saturday morning parkrun. Although we cannot deliver these leaflets in a group, we are relieved to have a reason to be outside running again, even if we have to do it solo. Keeping active during this time is vital for our physical health, but also our mental health, one of the reasons that many of us run at all.”
“We would like to thank the Muddy Runners and all the groups, parishes and volunteers who are helping us to support isolated and vulnerable people across Test Valley. It is a difficult time for many people and to be able to offer this coordinating service locally is really important.” Terry Bishop, Unity Chief Executive.
